VILNIUS - In a meeting on April 10, the government approved the priorities and the most important tasks outlined for 2013, reports ELTA. It’s an optimistic and broad list of goals: great efforts will be made to promote economic growth, increase employment and reduce social exclusion, ensure financial sustainability of the country’s economy, increase energy efficiency, improve the quality of educational, scientific, cultural and healthcare services and to assume the Presidency of the EU Council.
The government is planning to carry out a number of important tasks in the field of economic growth. Efforts will be taken to develop a skills map of specialists, improve conditions for business by reducing administrative burdens, review and simplify licensing procedures, spatial planning procedures, and optimize the activities of supervisors of economic factors in society. It is also intended to seek progress in the weakest areas of business conditions.
The continuation of key projects in the field of transport will contribute to the enhancement of Lithuania’s competitiveness, it is hoped.
Not to be left out, youth unemployment will be reduced by implementing active labor market measures, granting aid to employers for hiring young people and providing individualized support.
