Estonian Tax Board starts reducing illicit economy

TALLINN - Estonian Finance Minister Jurgen Ligi approved of the Tax and Customs Board (TCB) development plan for the years 2013-2016, which sets the strategic aims and main action directions of the board, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

"While our previous strategy focused on reducing administrative burden, the most important key word of this strategy period is reduction of the share of underground economy in the Estonian business environment," said TCB director general Marek Helm.

Helm said that special attention is paid in the next four years on upgrading control measures and making them more effective but also on proposals to change the legislative sphere.
