VILNIUS - New Energy Minister of Lithuania Jaroslav Neverovich has ordered to dismiss Zilvinas Jurksus from the director general's post at the Ignalina nuclear power plant (NPP) as of February 5.

According to lrytas.lt sources, Jurksus lost the minister's confidence.

The director general received criticism for failing to resolve a conflict with German company Nukem which is carrying out the decommissioning work. As a result, in late 2012 the European Union froze funds for the Ignalina NPP closure.
