TALLINN - At its meeting on Thursday, the Estonian government decided to issue a loan of 8.3 million euros to Estonian Air, in order to guarantee flight connections to destinations that are important for Estonia, writes the National Broadcasting.
It was also decided that by January 1, 2013 at the latest, the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications will have to present a State aid request to the European Commission, in order to provide assistance to the airline.
By February 28 next year, the ministry will have to present to the government an action plan and a schedule for restructuring Estonian Air.
The funds to lend the aviation enterprise will be taken from the reserve fund for property reform.
