RIGA - The annual average inflation rate decreased to 2.7 percent in October, bringing Latvia closer to the introduction of the euro, SEB Bank macroeconomic expert Dainis Gaspuitis said, reports Nozare.lv. Gaspuitis explained that, contrary to the forecasts, the average consumer price level in October remained unchanged from September. The forecasts did not come true due to a decrease in telecommunication rates brought about by competition.
