TALLINN - The Letter Center e-solution of Estonian national postal company Eesti Post that enables to send e-mails into ordinary letterboxes, among other things, received the Postal Technology International main award in the digital innovations category, Postimees Online reports.
The award winner is decided upon by influential postal organizations and this year the jury included representatives of UPS, TNT, DHL, Royal Mail, Swiss Post, La Poste France, South African Postal Service, Canadian Post, Singapore Post, Australian Post and Saudi Post.
The five international postal technology award winners were declared at the Post Expo 2012 fair that takes place on September 18-20 in Brussels. The digital postal innovation award is considered the most prestigious of them and is called innovation of the year.
The Letter Center is a link between a computer and an ordinary mailbox, enabling to send e-mails and be delivered them in letter form but also enables addressees to receive registered letters via electronic channels. It has over 200 users among companies and public sector institutions.
