National Plan discussion begins

RIGA - The month-long public discussion of the National Development Plan’s first draft begins today, reports LETA. Residents and non-governmental organizations are encouraged to submit their comments and proposals toā-es-varu-palīdzēt by Sept. 15.

The first draft of the National Development plan will be publicly discussed during two stages. From Aug. 15 to Sept. 15, the draft will be discussed electronically. Regional discussions will follow.

The National Development Plan’s motto - economic breakthrough - proposed by Environmental Protection and Regional Development Minister Edmunds Sprudzs (Reform Party), will be discussed as well.

Yesterday the government approved the first draft of the National Development Plan prepared by the Inter-ministerial Coordination Center. The Plan’s priorities include economic growth, human security and promoting growth throughout the country.
