Lithuania celebrates Statehood Day

VILNIUS - Lithuania marks a public holiday of Mindaugas Coronation Day, or statehood Day, on July 6.

State Flag and Historical Flag of Lithuania will be ceremoniously hoisted in Simonas Daukantas Square on the occasion.

The holiday has been marked to commemorate the coronation of Mindaugas in 1253 as the first and only King of Lithuania.
