Labor Party to approve candidates to the new parliament

KAUNAS - On Friday evening, the Labor Party's convention will take place.

The party's election program and the party's candidates to the Seimas will be presented during the convention.

President of the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party (ELDR) Graham Watson will arrive specially for the meeting.

According to Chairman of the Labor Party, MEP Viktor Uspaskich, it will be agreed on basic provisions of the elections and future party's works in the new Seimas. The party is for increasing minimum wage, reducing heating prices and fostering creation of new jobs.

Uspaskich said that it is crucially important to solve issues concerning mass migration, enormous credit and budget deficit.

Watson will deliver a speech during the party's convention.

The Labor Party joined the ELDR political organization on May 11-12, during the ELDR party's board sitting in Yerevan, Armenia.
