TALLINN - Around 800 managers and experts from 82 aviation companies will convene for the 2012 Routes Europe, the region’s annual route development forum, in Tallinn on May 20-22, Postimees Online reports.

Managers from companies like Lufthansa, Iberia Airlines, Aeroflot, Air Berlin but also from more exotic places like China Southern Airlines or Oman Air will be present.

An aviation leaders' event of that caliber has not taken place in Estonia before and Tallinn Airport board member Erik Sakkov says that it is unlikely that any would take place in the near future. "Now that the decision-makers of the European aviation business are all present here, it is our big chance and a holy duty to leave an unforgettable impression of Estonia, Estonians and Tallinn," said Sakkov.

He also added that organizing Routes Europe in Tallinn is a big challenge. A number of Estonian companies and institutions participate in organizing it like Enterprise Estonia, Estonian Air, Economy and Communications Ministry, Tallinn city government etc.
