VILNIUS - Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite dismissed Judge of the District Court of Kaunas City Almantas Lisauskas and Judge of The First District Court of Vilnius City Rysardas Skirtunas.

Grybauskaite signed relevant decrees, taking into account advices from the Judicial Council, informs LETA/ELTA.

Grybauskaite had initiated dismissal of the officials two months ago due to information revealed during an investigation that Lisauskas harshly violated the Lithuanian Code of Ethics of the Judges, principles of justice, equity and independence, carried authority over customs officers and his colleague, and tolerated other judges' authority over the lawsuits investigated by him.

Dismissal of Skirtunas was initiated by the president due to that he broke the Code of Ethics of the Judges, had some non-procedural relationships with a lawyer and tolerated extraneous interference.
