Lithuania to send two representatives to missile defense conference in Moscow

VILNIUS - On May 3 - 4, Policy Director of the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defense Vaidotas Urbelis and representative of the MoD Euro-Atlantic Cooperation Department Lt. Col. Jurij Parfencik will attend international conference on missile defense “The Factor of Missile Defense in the Formation of New Security Space” in Moscow.

Lithuanian representatives were delegated to the event by invitation of Defense Minister of the Russian Federation Anatoly Serdyukov, Lithuanian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

At the conference the position of missile defense in the modern global and regional defense system will be addressed. High-level representatives of various countries will also exchange opinions about technical aspects of evaluating the potential of missile defense and the possibilities of cooperation in the missile defense area.

The international conference in Moscow will be organized by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.
