Rigans' heating debts at 14.4 million lats

RIGA - Rigans' heating debts to the joint-stock heat supply company Rigas Siltums are currently at 14.4 million lats (19.9 million euros), reports LETA.

Riga Mayor Nils Usakovs (Harmony Center) told the LNT morning show “900 sekundes” today that the figure is considerable, adding that the number of unpaid bills had slightly increased from last year.

Housing management company Rigas Namu Parvaldnieks owes a total of 20 lats million for public utility and housing management services.

Usakovs emphasized that none of the people who come to Rigas Namu Parvaldnieks to negotiate their debt repayment schedules and look for different solutions will be subject to debt collection procedures.

2,259 petitions for debt collection were submitted to courts by January.

Rigas Namu Parvaldnieks runs around 4,300 buildings with the total area of 8 million sq. meters.
