VENTSPILS - Next week, the Freeport of Ventspils Authority will sign contracts on construction of a 3D technology factory in the city, LETA was informed by the port's spokeswoman Inga Ievina.

On April 16, the Freeport of Ventspils Authority will sign contracts with the Finnish bank "Pohjola Bank plc" on funding for the project and with the construction company "Skonto Buve" on construction of the facility, so the new factory - "EuroLCDs" - could launch operations at the end of the year.

In September 2011, the Freeport of Ventspils Authority and "EuroLCDs" signed building and land lease contracts. 1.47 hectares of the port's land were leased for the company's manufacturing needs. It is planned that the manufacturing facility will occupy an area of 4,300 square meters.

"Pohjola Bank plc" won the tender on funding for the project, and will lend 4.5 million euros for construction of the factory.

"Skonto Buve" won the tender on construction of the manufacturing facility.

"EuroLCDs" will manufacture 3D glasses, lenses, welding lenses and other 3D products.

The factory will provide 50 jobs and could also employ 50 more people in distribution and administrative processes.
