TALLINN - Estonia has for years paid support to people who wish to return to their homeland and this year 61577 euros has been allocated for it, Postimees writes.

The maximum sum paid to one person will be 2 000 euros.

The aim for this year has been set at 60 people but when appointing the support sum, a specific person and their needs are taken into account, said Integration and Migration Foundation citizenship education and migration unit head Rain Sannik.

In 2010, 66 people received the support and the average sum was 12 152 kroons, a total of 800 000 kroons. Last year 611 people received it, as nearly 55 070 euros or an average of 903 euros per person was paid.
