Price of 95 octane gasoline rises to over 1 lat per liter

RIGA - Fuel retailer Latvija Statoil today raised gasoline and diesel fuel prices for one santim, therefore 95 octane gas now costs 1.009 lats (1.42 euros) per liter at Statoil filling stations, according to data from Statoil website.

Diesel fuel costs 99.9 santims per liter at the moment.

The company explains that gasoline and diesel fuel prices continued to increase in Europe last week, setting several new records. Gasoline price increased the most and currently stands at over $1.160 per ton, compared to $950 at the beginning of January. Diesel fuel price has also increased to $1.065 per ton from $950 in January.
