ICE PRINCESSES: Disney’s new show features many of their most popular fairy-tale princesses.
VILNIUS - Visiting Vilnius Siemens Arena on March 3 - 4, the world-famous Disney on Ice troupe will present their newest family-oriented show on ice, “Princesses and Heroes,” created specifically for touring. The colorful and vivacious performance tells the story of the most loved and popular Disney princesses and the princes who became their heroes.
“It is the second time when Disney on Ice visits our country. […] After their performance a couple years ago, the crowd is still sharing incredible impressions and heart-warming emotions. Not only children, but also grown-ups were enchanted by seeing familiar and beloved characters. Thus, we are extremely happy we can turn our Siemens arena into a real fairy tale world again, and light the shine in both a kid’s and an adult’s eyes,” says Juras Vezelis, president of the entertainment company SEVEN Live.
The newest Disney princess, Tinkerbell, will present the best classical Disney fairy tales, including “The Little Mermaid,” “Beauty and the Beast,” “Snow White,” “Cinderella,” “Aladdin,” and “Sleeping Beauty.” She will also introduce members of the Disney family previously unseen on ice.
“Before we started to create the new Disney on Ice performance, we thought about what makes Disney princesses and heroes so special. We realized that all princesses have one thing in common – every one of them takes risks to find their real dreams and they all come true because of their faith,” says Kenneth Feld, the president and producer of Feld Entertainment. He welcomes the upcoming possibility to share this inspiring idea with audiences in Lithuania.
“Princesses and Heroes” takes you to a fairy-tale world where anything can happen – all you have to do is believe. That faith is strengthened by professional designer costumes, which had over 60 people working on them, the enchanting music of composer Jerry Bilik, and the impressive work of Cindy Stuart, who has created dance compositions for Olympic figure skating champions, choreography, and perfect lighting which required 650 hours of work (27 days of work with no break!), work by Emmy winner Peter Morse, as well as the glistening ice itself.
The performance on ice “Princesses and Heroes” is not only special because it has characters rising from the pages of books, but also because of the impressive decorations that create a fairy tale atmosphere: a huge waterfall, a massive carriage for Cinderella that’s covered with over 2,000 light bulbs, a 11.5-meter-high and 30-meter-long dragon that spits fire, and much more.
In Lithuania the Disney on Ice troupe will show three “Princesses and Heroes” performances.
Over more than 30 years Disney on Ice has become one of the most well-known and popular ice shows on the planet. The show that has gained world-wide fame and recognition was created by Feld Entertainment in collaboration with the Walt Disney Company. The main stars of the family-oriented Disney on Ice shows are characters from Walt Disney fairy tales.
