Latvia to form special agency for state-run companies

RIGA - The Latvian government has announced plans to create a special new agency to handle the assets of state-run companies, national news agency LETA reported.The new agency would be responsible to the prime minister, Economy Minister Daniels Pavluts told reporters after the Reform Management Group’s meeting today.The Reform Management Group has approved the transition to a partially-centralized management of state-owned companies.  The final proposals will now have to be harmonized.Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (Unity) also approves of the idea, which has pro...
