VILNIUS - Both fired heads of the Financial Crime Investigation Service (FCIS) say that they were fired due to investigations into companies sponsoring political parties in exchange for later benefits during public procurement.Interior Minister Raimundas Palaitis, after his meeting with Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite on Feb. 15, announced that Vitalijus Gailius, director of the FCIS, and Vytautas Girzadas, deputy of Gailius, had been fired.
