VILNIUS – Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite met with President of Poland Bronislaw Komorowski who visited Lithuania on the occasion of the Day of Re-establishment of the State of Lithuania, the presidential press service said.

Grybauskaite thanked Bronislaw Komorowski for the congratulations from the Polish nation to the people of Lithuania. The Presidents also discussed the prospects for promoting bilateral cooperation, particularly in the fields of energy and security.

"Last year we agreed with the President of Poland to focus on bilateral cooperation. Today we have decided to contribute personally, on the highest level, to implementation of gas and power interconnection projects," Grybauskaite said.

She also offered Poland to join the Lithuanian-based Energy Security Centre which aims to contribute to ensuring energy security and smart defense for all NATO allies.
