VILNIUS (BNS) - Members of Kuwait's National Assembly have praised Lithuania as a progressive and stable European country and are planning to call on their country's businesses to invest in Lithuania.

A delegation of Kuwaiti lawmakers said this at a meeting with Lithuanian Prime Minister Gediminas Vagnorius last week, the government's press office reported. Officials said the meeting covered possibilities for economic relations.

Kuwait imports as much as 95 percent of its food products, so agreements could be signed that open the way for Lithuanian food exports to that Middle Eastern country.
