British portal lists Jurmala among the best beach cities

One of the largest British news portals, www.aol.co.uk, has listed Jurmala among the world’s ten most perfect beach cities, says Jurmala City Council, reports LETA.

Jurmala is mentioned among such popular tourist destinations as Nice and Biarritz (France), Barcelona (Spain), Venice (Italy), Antalya (Turkey), Cape Town (South Africa), Los Angeles (United States), Vancouver (Canada) and Sydney (Australia).

Jurmala City Council representative Veronika Ramane said that it is often difficult to decide for travelers which place to visit to have a good time, for complete relaxation, enjoyment of historical and cultural experiences, spending time on sand beaches and bathing in the sea.

“In this regard, Jurmala definitely has the advantage over other tourist destinations, since it is located in the vicinity of Riga. You do not have to pick among the said criteria; Jurmala offers have all of them. You can experience Riga’s cultural and historical environment, rich assortment of spa and resort services, fantastic nature, various recreational activities, local culture and entertainment,” pointed out Ramane.
