RIGA– On Jan. 24, the Riga Vidzeme District Court decided to release the former president of "Latvijas Krajbanka", Ivars Prieditis, from custody, LETA was informed by Prieditis' lawyer Saulvedis Varpins.

The court's verdict cannot be appealed.

However, Prieditis is now forbidden to leave the country as well as to meet with certain people, State Police representative Sintija Virse told news portal Delfi.lv today. Virse did not mention any names, but there is a reason to think that Prieditis is prohibited to meet with his former colleagues.

As reported, Prieditis was ordered held in custody on November 2011.

The State Police have named him a suspect in the case of the money discovered missing at the bank.
