Paet to pay an official visit to Tajikistan

TALLINN – Starting Jan. 11, Estonian Foreign Minister Urmas Paet will be on an official visit to Tajikistan, during which he is scheduled to meet with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarif and Minister of Economic Development and Trade Farruk Khamraliyev.

During these meetings, bilateral relations, including the development of political and economic ties, and opportunities to work together in the development cooperation sector and international organizations, will be discussed. They will also address Tajikistan’s relations with the European Union and relations with neighboring states. Other topics to be discussed are the international security situation, particularly the situation in Afghanistan.

There are also plans to conclude an agreement for the reciprocal facilitation and protection of investments between Estonia and Tajikistan.
