VILNIUS - Airports Council International (ACI Europe) has published information that according to the growth of passenger rate, in October 2011 Vilnius International Airport has reached the first place among the total number of 170 assessed European airports.
Vilnius International Airport takes the leading position among airports already for the third month. In October the growth of passenger rate was 53.7 percent – the largest in the history of airports, reportsLETA/ELTA.
According to the data of ACI Europe, among airports with most rapidly growing passenger rate are also such airports as Bourgas Airport in Bulgaria (which has reached the growth of passenger rate by 49.7 percent), Tallinn Airport in Estonia (which has reached the growth rate of passengers by 37 percent), Venice Airport in Italy (the growth rate of passenger flows has reached 33.7 percent).
The total rate of growth at European airports in October was 3.4 percent, if compared with the corresponding period of the year 2010. ACI Europe represents interests of airports in 46 different European countries and its members represent 90 percent of European airports market.
