Insurance market to expand as 2012 growth expected to be moderate

KLAIPEDA - Stronger insurance market performance is a tell-tale sign of a rebounding economy, despite some gloomy forecasts on its 2012 outlook due to the eurodebt crisis in the south of Europe.Julius Kondratas, Lietuvos Draudimas (Lithuanian Insurance) board member and director of the Underwriting and Claims Department, says that the insurance market in 2011 has set onto a positive trajectory, seeing an eight percent total non-life insurance market growth during 2011’s first 9 months, as commercial insurance has grown 12 percent and the private sector has gone up by 4 percent....
