Grybauskaite to pay a working visit to Ukraine

VILNIUS– Today [Nov. 22] Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite will go for a working visit to Ukrainian capital Kiev, where she is scheduled to meet with Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych and Prime Minister Mykola Azarov, attend0 the 5th session of the Council of Presidents of the Republic of Lithuania and Ukraine, welcome the participants of the business forum of both countries, and participate in the exhibition - fair of Lithuanian products, President’s Office reports.

Two presidents will discuss bilateral relations, cooperation in the fields of economy, transport, culture, and education. A special focus will be made on Ukraine’s relationship with the European Union and European integration process.

“Tighter political and economic cooperation between the European Union and Ukraine is important for both sides. Implementation of internal reforms, improvement of business environment and promotion of anti-corruption struggle serve to bring Ukraine closer to Europe. This partnership yields benefits to Lithuania as well,” President Dalia Grybauskaite underlined.
