Around 30,000 spectators gathered for Independence Day fireworks

RIGA - Around 30,000 people watched the Independence Day fireworks in downtown Riga on Nov. 18, as Riga City Council’s spokeswoman Anna Kononova told news agency LETA.

Precise data could be presented on Monday, as well as the number of visitors, who attended “Beaming Riga” festival.

As reported, thousands gathered for Independence Day fireworks by the Daugava River in downtown Riga several minutes after President Andris Berzins’ speech by the Freedom Monument.

The spectacular fireworks show was the culmination of a joyous Independence Day celebration in Riga on Nov. 18.
