Azubalis and French Ambassador discuss bilateral relations

VILNIUS- At the meeting with the new French Ambassador to Lithuania Maryse Berniau on Nov. 7, Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs Audronius Azubalis stressed the close cooperation between the countries and discussed important issues of bilateral relations, the visit of Prime Minister Francois Fillon to Lithuania and the implementation of the Strategic Partnership Action Plan that was signed this year.
At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the economic cooperation between the countries and emphasized the intensifying trade ties of Lithuania and France.

Azubalis and the Ambassador also discussed energy perspectives for Lithuania. Berniau highlighted the possibilities for bilateral cooperation in the field of nuclear safety. The Minister voiced concern over the nuclear energy projects that are being implemented in Lithuania’s neighborhood.

Ambassador Maryse Berniau presented her credentials to President of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaite on Nov. 3.

Diplomatic relations of Lithuania and France were re-established on Aug. 29, 1991.
