Lithuanian and Ukrainian foreign ministries discuss Ukraine’s integration into the EU

KYIV - On Nov. 4 at the meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin in Kyiv, Director of the European Affairs Department of the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Tomas Gulbinas expressed support for Ukraine’s integration into the European Union, reports Lithuanian Foreign Ministry.


Ukraine, aiming to successfully complete the negotiations on the Association Agreement with the EU, has to overcome the rising challenges and draw attention to the quality of the implementation of the legislation in the context of the visa dialogue between the EU and Ukraine.

During the meetings, the interlocutors also discussed issues regarding the combined train “Viking,” which is a joint project of Lithuanian, Belarusian and Ukrainian railways and seaports and emphasized the significance of compliance with nuclear safety standards at the existing and future nuclear power plants.
