Kanepi defeats world no 1

TALLINN -- Estonian women's tennis star Kaia Kanepi has defeated world number one Caroline Wozniacki to advance to the quarter finals at the Pan Pacific Open tournament in Tokyo.

Kanepi, 26, beat Wozniackiin three sets, 7-5, 1-6, 6-4.

Kanepi is currently ranked world number 43. Her highest ranking was in February, when she reached 16th place worldwide.
