VILNIUS -- In a major ceremony on Sept. 22, Lithuanian officials held a memorial ceremony for thousands of Jewish victims of the Holocaust.

The ceremony involved reading the names and occupations of thousands of Jewish victims of the Nazis in Lithuania. Reading the names took more than 15 hours.

The ceremony comes as Lithuania marks 70 years since the holocaust, which wiped out 95% of the Jewish population in the country.
