RIGA -- A recent survey has found that Latvians are becoming slightly more optimistic about their economic future.

In the study, conducted by "DnB Nord Latvijas barometrs", 47 percent of respondents said they thought the economic situation in the country would further decline -- a decrease of 3 percent on March.

Nevertheless, around three-quarters (75%) of respondents said they felt the country was headed in the "wrong direction".

Slightly over 1,000 people took part in the survey, which was conducted in mid-April.
