TALLINN -- The US Embassy in Tallinn has announced that it will open a new center in the country to fight cyber and financial crime.

"Estonia was selected as the site for the new Secret Service office due to both the investigative nexus it provides in combating cyber-crime as well as the facilitation it provides the agency in the fulfillment of its protective duties," the embassy said.

"Tallinn provides the Secret Service with a strong foundation in the Baltic region and will also serve as a prime location from which to engage our counterparts in Russia and throughout the Nordic region," it said.
