VILNIUS -- Lithuania's champion marathon runner, Zivile Balciunaite, has said she will fight the decision to strip her of a European Championships medal and ban her from international competition for 2 years.
Earlier this month, Lithuania's athletics federation found her guilty of doping and imposed the ban, which will bar her from taking part in the 2012 London Olympics.
Balciunaite has denied the allegations, claiming that her increased testosterone levels had been the result of a drug prescribed by her gynaecologist.
