70 million illegal smokes confiscated in Lithuania raid

VILNUS -- European anti-fraud authorities have seized 70 million cigarettes and arrested nine people as part of a crack-down on smuggling from Ukraine and Russia.

The investigation involved authorities from numerous EU states, including Lithuania, Poland and Germany. The smugglers would have dodged paying about 6 million euros in taxes.
