Six Arctic highjackers sentenced

ARCHANGEL - Six residents of the Baltic States have been sentenced to between 7 adn 12 years in prison for piracy.

The six men, five Estonians and one Latvian, were involved in the highjacking of a cargo ship allegedly transporting 1.5 million euros worth of timber from Finland to Algeria in the summer of 2009. The ship disappeared while still in the Arctic Sea.

Two other suspects in the crime had already pled guilty.
