VILNIUS - The Lithuanian Office of Public Procurement has found that government institutions were charged more than 3 times the standard price for telecommunications, costing the state nearly 8 million euros.

The office found that companies charged government institutions around 16 cents per minute for calls, when the regular fee is 3-4 cents per minute.

Likewise, text messages that normally cost around 6 cents were increased to 18 cent for public institutions.
