The 2007 record will likely fall in 2012 said TNS Latvia Senior Account Manager Oskars Rumpeters.

The McDonald’s fast food chain intends to add eight more restaurants to its total in the Baltic States by 2013, reports Nozare.lv. This year two new restaurants will open in Riga, and the first one outside the capital. Even though McDonald’s is not saying where, it does confirm that it will be in either Daugavpils, Jelgava or Liepaja. McDonald’s investments for development in Latvia last year totaled 3 million euros. The last and eighth restaurant to open its doors was the one in Riga’s Alfa mall, with a 700,000 euro investment providing 50 new job positions. Also last year, downtown Riga’s McDonald’s ‘Main Station’ on Merkela street was expanded into a McCafe.
