TALLINN - Estonian film director Kadri Kousaar has said she will use the European Court of Justice to fight a recent decision to ban her most recent film, Magnus.

The Estonian court found that Magnus, which is based on a true story, was an invation of the subject's privacy and banned the film from being shown until at least 2025.

Kousaar, meanwhile, argued that changing the names and other crucial details of characters in the film was sufficient to bypass the country's privacy laws.

"It is completely unprecedented and absurd that there is a ban on a  feature film in which no one has been filmed by a hidden camera and no one's real name or address is shown," Kousaar was quoted as saying by national news agency ERR.
