Medics survive elevator plummet

TALLINN - An ambulance crew and patient have survived what could have been disaster after an elevator broke and dropped the passengers to the bottom floor. There were no injuries.

Estonian public news agency ERR reported that the ambulance crew had responded to an early morning call and were in the process of transporting a patient to the hospital at the time of the accident.

The accident took place in one of the Soviet-era housing projects in the Mustamäe area of Tallinn.
