MINSK - Lithuanian Foreign Minister Audronius Azubalis has condemned the highly controversial Belarussian elections, calling the vote counting system "undemocratic".
"Lithuania supports the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe’s position that the vote in essence was undemocratic," Azubalis said to reporters. "Observers could not approach and see (vote counting). Technical processes were administered by the commission in a good and transparent manner, but it lacked objectivity."
The recent elections in Belarus have been condemned by numerous other countries following a crack down in which the majority of the other presidential candidates were arrested along with protesters.
