Latvia to increase minimum wage

RIGA - The Latvian government has announced that country's minimum wage will be increased to 200 Lats per month from the current 180 Lats.

Starting next year, the pre-tax increase in monthly wages will be accompanied by an increase of the hourly minimum wage to 1.189 Lats, LETA reported.

In August 2010, 182,600 employed persons in Latvia received minimum wage.
