Jaanson announces retirement

TALLINN - Estonian champion rower Jüri Jaanson has announced his retirement from the sport at age 45.

The sportsman has two Olympic silver medals to his name, in addition to five world championship medals.

In 2007, the then 41-year-old became the oldest rower ever to win a World Cup event, taking first place in the double sculls in Amsterdam.
