KNAB under investigation

RIGA - Latvia's prosecutor's office has begun an probe into the country's anti-corruption bureau over alleged connections between senior officials and a suspect in a major ongoing investigation, national news agency LETA reported.

The parliaments National Security Committee requested the prosecutor's office launch the investigation following reports that Aigars Bors, head of the Constitutional Protection Bureau's Intelligence Department, is connected to businessman Artis Hartmanis, a suspect in a large-scale money laundering scheme.

KNAB spokesmen have denied the allegations that there is a connection between the two men.
