RIGA - A recent "Top 500" company report by Dienas Bizness has found that the Bank of Latvia was the most profitable company in the country last year.
The national bank was followed by "Latvia's State Forests" and telecommunications giant "Tele2 Latvia". In fourth and fifth were two more telecom companies - the state-owned Lattelecom and LMT.
In 2008, Swedbank, Latvijas Mobilais telefons and the Bank of Latvia were the most profitable companies in Latvia, whereas in 2007 Swedbank, "Latvia's State Forests" and SEB banka made the top three.
