VILNIUS - A government task force has nominated the waters off the Couronian Spit as the best place for the country to build it's new floating natural gas terminal.
‘Having considered a variety of alternatives (15 sites), the task group concluded that the southern part of the seaport of Klaipeda, off the so-called Kiaules Nugara, is the best location for Lithuania’s liquefied natural gas (LNG) terminal,’ Romas Svedas, Deputy Energy Minster said at a news conference on 3 November.
The project is aimed at helping Lithuania, which gets almost all of it's energy from Russia, secure its energy supply.
