New Latvian cabinet approved by parilament

RIGA - Latvia's new government, made up of a coalition between "Unity" and the "Greens and Farmers Union", has gained the approval of parliament and held its first Cabinet meeting.

All 55 coalition deputies voted in favor of the new government, headed by incumbent PM Valdis Dombrovskis, as did deputies from the opposition All For Latvia!-For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK.

In the new cabinet's first official meeting, held Nov. 3, the prime minister said that passing a budget for next year would be the government's first major priority.
