VILNIUS - Polish low-cost airline WizzAir has announced that it will offer 8 flights out of Vilnius, helping to relieve the Lithuanian capital's sore need for flight destinations as the country remains without a national airline.

Negotiations with Ryanair for Vilnius have stalled. The airline has moved a significant part of its flights to Kaunas, Lithuania's second biggest city.

There are currently only 17 routes from Vilnius airport.
