Lithuanian mayor arrested

ALYTUS -- The mayor of the Lithuanian town of Alytus, Ceslovas Daugela, has been arrested by the Special Investigation Service.

He is accused of document falsification and embezzlement of a sum of more than 500,000 Litas (around 145,000 euros), Lithuanian Tribune reported.

The mayor will remain in detention for 15 days while police continue their investigation.
